How the Gummy & Chocolate Weight Calculator Works
Finished gummies have a typical density of approximately 1.4 grams per milliliter, based on a standard recipe of gelatin, sugar, water, and flavoring. Tempered chocolate has a density of approximately 1.3 grams per milliliter. To estimate the weight of a single piece from your silicone or polycarbonate mold, multiply the mold's cavity volume (in mL) by the density for your material. For example, a 5 mL cavity filled with gummy will weigh approximately 7 grams, while the same cavity filled with chocolate will weigh approximately 6.5 grams. This calculator is ideal for confectioners, chocolatiers, supplement manufacturers, and home candy makers planning ingredient quantities and dosing.
