Florida Edibles get the Go Ahead

Four years after legalization of medical marijuana, edibles have been given the go-ahead in the State of Florida.

Florida Department of Health introduced a rule on Wednesday, August 26, outlining standards for production of edibles. The rules, which require edibles to be approved by the Dept prior to production, outline familiar standards seen in other states, including prohibition of shapes similar to commercial candy, or any design that could attract children.

Florida has also adopted the use of a ‘universal symbol’, which is required to be imprinted on to the edible itself, similar to the likes of Colorado, Massachusetts and Maine. The rules can be found on the Department's website, and took immediate effect on August 26.
