How the Gummy & Chocolate Weight Calculator Works
Finished gummies have a typical density of approximately 1.35 grams per milliliter, based on a standard recipe of gelatin, sugar, water, and flavoring. Tempered chocolate has a density of approximately 1.3 grams per milliliter. To estimate the weight of a single piece from your silicone or polycarbonate mold, multiply the mold's cavity volume (in mL) by the density for your material. For example, a 5 mL cavity filled with gummy will weigh approximately 6.75 grams, while the same cavity filled with chocolate will weigh approximately 6.5 grams. This calculator is ideal for confectioners, chocolatiers, supplement manufacturers, and home candy makers planning ingredient quantities and dosing.
